    Phil Herd

    “Equipping Teachers with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to teach maths effectively is what drives my work. I am passionate about creating an inspiring curriculum for children than instills a love and curiosity for the subject and desire to explore it in alls its many facets.”

    Phil has over 18 years classroom teaching experience, with 7 years spent as Maths Lead. He has 5 years senior leadership experience and has been a Specialist Leader of Maths Education for the past 5 years. Phil works as an Associate Headteacher for Transform supporting schools in all aspects of T&L Maths as well as being the Trust’s Digital Lead.

    Phil is a Fellow of the Chartered College for Teaching, an Accredited Professional Development Lead for NCETM, Mastery Specialist and Maths specialist from NCETM.

    He has provided CPD programmes for the East Midlands West Maths Hub for the past 5 years and is a regular facilitator at the Trust Maths Specialist Networks and INSET events.

    He has delivered keynote talks at the East Midlands Maths Conference and regularly supports Transform schools with their Maths INSET provision as well as advising on digital learning.
