Liz Barratt

“I am passionate about learning in all of its forms and am interested in sharing methods for developing expertise, growing confidence and encouraging positive behaviours and attitudes to personal and professional development. My main interests are classroom pedagogy and creating effective conditions for educator learning and leadership development.“


Liz has 20 years experience of teaching in secondary schools with a subject specialism within Humanities. Her senior leadership experience spans 10 years with a focus on whole-school T&L, ITT, Leadership Development and Staff professional Development.

Liz joined Transform Trust as Lead Associate Headteacher in 2019 having worked alongside the Trust developing its Coaching programme and Leadership Development provision for Headteachers for the past 5 years. She has been central to the development of the Transform Applied approach being pivotal in its conception, development and delivery across all three areas: Leadership, T&L and CPD.

She is a founding Fellow of the Chartered College for Teaching and has been an SLE since 2012. She is accredited to lead NPQ’s, NPQ online and OTP and has significant experience in facilitating effective professional development at all levels.

Liz is a regular Keynote Speaker at Transform INSET events and Leadership Conferences, she has presented at national conferences and briefings including; Westminster Briefings, Inspiring Leaders Conference, the BETT Show, Nottingham University MA programme and the Wandsworth Headteacher and Deputy Conferences. Her focus is on Leadership at all levels, professional development and effective design for learning.

Liz has most recently authored: “The Explicit Modelling Use and Modelling of Cognitive Science in Staff Development. Impact,” published by Chartered College and several of the Transform Applied booklets: The Fundamentals of coaching, Be@Our Best and Cognitive Science. She is currently co-authoring several academic leadership articles with Dr Marc North, Sarah Heesom and Fiona Moore as part of the Leadership Applied suite.
